EducationEHouse youth attend an after-school Homework Club, in which each receives assistance with core academics. Preschool-age children enjoy Reading Club in which favorite books are shared aloud. We also offer individual tutoring to help with specific subjects or basic literacy skills. Many of the moms and single women are also students while living at EHouse. In addition to Parenting Group, in which they learn about the emotional, physical, spiritual and developmental needs of their children, our residents benefit from inservices provided by outside professionals on issues such as money management, nutrition, and stress reduction exercises. Our women's writing group, "EWriters," has been a wonderful outlet and community-builder among the residents, many of whom attest to the intellectual and therapeutic benefits of this supportive arena for writing and sharing.
If you are interested in volunteering in any of these programs, or if you have an idea of a new service to offer our families, please contact the Volunteer Coordinator. We'd love to hear from you!
