Oakland Elizabeth House is a tax-exempt 501(c)3 non-profit organization.

Your contributions are fully tax-deductible.

We gratefully accept monetary donations, donations of stock, and most in-kind donations (including clothing, books, household goods, furniture, automobiles, computers, appliances, etc.).

Please call or e-mail us before stopping by or sending an in-kind donation. If we cannot accept your donation for any reason, we can usually point you towards another reputable organization.

Drop-off donations at our House, 6423 Colby Street, Oakland, CA 94618 (cross street is Alcatraz Ave. in the Rockridge neighborhood, in the old convent at St. Augustine Church.) Please see "Donation Policy" below.

Donation Policy

Effective Jan 1, 2008

Our donation bins are closed currently due to staffing issues. Please do not drop off donations during this time. The gate and bins will be locked.

Please Note: We do not accept public monies (donations from government agencies).

We accept donations by appointment only.
The gate to the donation bins will be locked at other times and donations will not be accepted.
To donate furniture and food items, please call our office, 510 658-1380, to schedule a drop off time. Please do not leave these items outside or in the bins.
Upon drop off, complete a donation form so you receive an acknowledgement and a receipt from Ehouse for tax purposes.

Items Currently Needed at Ehouse

Dishes, glasses, and silverware
Can openers small kitchen utensils, dish towels, cleaning items
Rugs for bedrooms/bathroom and bound rugs
Furniture (please call)
Towels, (bath and kitchen)
Food items (sealed/current expiration dates)
New or gently used working vacuum cleaners
Small working TV suitable for a bedroom

** This list will change over time as our needs change.

We cannot accept TVs more than 8 years old, computers or other items that are not in good workiing condition or are more than 3 years old. We cannot accept donations of child car seats, strollers or soiled mattresses for liability reasons.
