Good-bye

Saying Good-bye

The highest reward for a person's work is not what they get for it, but what they become because of it. -- John Ruskin

It is time for us to say good- bye to our Volunteer Coordinator, LaShonda Wilson.  LaShonda came to EHouse as a VISTA Volunteer in September of 2006 and decided to stay on after her VISTA year ended.  LaShonda says of her experience at EHouse, “I’m leaving here a changed person.  I’ve grown so much and learned so much”.  LaShonda has gained self knowledge and wisdom and has shared her many gifts openly and freely with this EHouse Community.

Making sure we had the needed volunteers for every activity at EHouse kept LaShonda busy.  She also jumped right in to offer help and support with the many household responsibilities that come up day to day. In her easy going manner LaShonda took things in stride and made everything seem doable and possible.

LaShonda will be continuing her education at Chabot College and will pursue a career in early childhood education.  So perfect for her.  LaShonda has a gift and a very special way with children.  I know for certain that the EHouse kids are going to miss her…actually we all are.  LaShonda tells us that she will not be a stranger to EHouse as she wants to continue volunteering while she is going to school.  “I love EHouse” we often hear her say.  We are all better for having crossed paths with LaShonda and we wish her only good and well deserved things in her future.

It is also time to say farewell and a great big thank you to Yoshi, our Bonner Leader from St. Mary’s College. Yoshi led our Monday night kids club and Homework Club this year and did an awesome job.  She too will be greatly missed.
