Where Hope Lives - An Enormous Success!

I’m On My Way…I’m On My Way…

Speaking to a sold out crowd at the Claremont Country Club, Saffron Ramsey, former resident of Oakland Elizabeth House recited a poem she wrote while living at EHouse.  “I’m On My Way” we heard her chant as she bore witness to the legacy left by Oakland Elizabeth House in her life’s journey.  She left no doubt in our minds that we had gathered on that day in support of a most worthy cause.

The fundraising event held on April 3, 2008 was enormously successful and offered a sequence of delights, from our pre-luncheon forum, which included time for meeting, greeting, perusing the auction items and shopping at our elegant boutique, to the excellent presentation of our author, speaker, Cornelia Read.

The live (and lively) auction, led by Mr. Steve Burke brought laughter and fun while the room was sprayed with bright orange flags signaling generous bidders at hand.

Donors, volunteers, supporters and friends, listened as Cornelia Read shared the story of her writing experience along with her understanding of women who struggle to make something new out of the critical transitional times in their lives.

Hope 02

On behalf of the board of directors, the staff and residents of EHouse, we want to thank all who supported our event; the planning committee, volunteers and donors. We recognize that it is because people come together to support an endeavor such as this event that EHouse can continue to be a place “Where Hope Lives” .  Each of you inspires hope in all of us to continue this important work.  Thank you so much.
