Chory Bañez, Office Manager/administrator
Chory has a background in Catholic education, spanning 17 years, which has given him the concrete foundation to cross into the corporate world and higher education. He entered corporate, supporting the Director of Corporate Marketing for a financial institution, armed with years of experience in communicating effectively with multiple personalities, a great skill set in conflict resolution, as well as superb organizational and time management skills. Chory most recent role was as the Executive Assistant and President’s House Manager in the Office of the President at Mills College in Oakland CA. He is currently the Office Manager for the Oakland and Seattle Office at HSNO. Chory is President of the Board of Directors and has chaired the annual benefit luncheon for the Oakland Elizabeth House, a residential transitional program for women and children who have experienced homelessness, violence, addiction, or poverty. His expertise in events planning also extends to his very large family, for whom he coordinates and executes a number of events and gatherings, including reunions and destination vacations. His link to many organizations, individuals, and communities, is testament to his well-established connections. Chory has a passion for doing good, and doing the right thing when it comes to helping others. Oakland Elizabeth House is at the forefront of that passion. Chory is bilingual in Tagalog and English and is a first generation born Filipino-American. His roots are in Berkeley, CA and he is currently a resident of Oakland.
Dr. Jackie Yancy, PhD, Ex-Officio
Dr. Jackie Yancy has spent the majority of her career working with women who face domestic violence, homelessness, and being a single parent. She holds a B.S. in Organizational Management, a M.S. in Counseling with an emphasis in Marriage, Child, and Family Therapy, and a Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration. Currently Dr. Yancy is the Executive Director of Oakland Elizabeth House in Oakland, California.
She also co-founded Triumph Educational Center in 2002 along with her husband Pastor Will Yancy, who is a well-known and respected domestic violence leader, educator, and minister. Its programs have provided services to families in crisis for over a decade. Because of her commitment to serving women, Dr. Yancy passionately empowers women to overcome challenges by guiding them to identify how they are WIRED (Working Inside Realistically Erasing Doubt). Recognized in Alameda County as an experienced practitioner in the field of domestic violence, Dr. Yancy has worked in collaboration with the Alameda County Family Justice Center, Alameda County Probation, and Alameda County Social Services to provide assistance for both victims and aggressors. Every program Dr. Yancy involves herself with helps reunite families and assist victims with regaining control of their lives. In addition, her work is helping many women understand the truth that will set them free to live safe and healthy lives.
Sondra Arnsdorf, Retired Dean, Bishop O'Dowd High School

Sondra Arnsdorf, B.A., M.Ed., M.S, is a member of St. Augustine Parish. Sondra has been a member of her parish's finance and parish councils and remains active in the University of Delaware Alumni programs. She recently retired from a long, rewarding career in the field of education where she was a principal, vice principal, dean, counselor and teacher.
Tom Scanlon, Director of Financial Reporting
Tom Scanlon has over 30 years of Accounting and Finance related experience. A California licensed CPA with industry experience in construction, solar and water utility. Presently he is the Director of Financial Reporting for California Water Service Company, a San Jose based publically traded water utility. Scanlon has earned a bachelor’s degree in Finance from Marquette University and Masters of Business Administration from University of Illinois at Chicago.
Megan Ashton, Financial Crimes Consultant
Megan Ashton is a risk management professional with over 10 years of working in the banking and financial industry. Currently she works for Wells Fargo Merchant Services as a Financial Crimes Consultant. Megan also has experience in marketing within the San Francisco tech startup industry.
Dr. Ann Eastman MD, Kaiser Permanente
Dr. Eastman is an Obstetrics and Gynecology physician at Kaiser Permanente in Oakland since 1987. She is the former Chief of Ob-Gyn for Kaiser Permanente in the East Bay. Her current work focuses on Labor and Delivery as well as resident physician training. Ann is the mother of 3 grown children. In her spare time she plays violin in two local orchestras and a string quartet. As a new board member, she is looking forward to determining how best to be of service to our Oakland Elizabeth House community.
Jimmie Wilson, Deputy District Attorney
Jimmie L. Wilson of Oakland CA, a Deputy District Attorney at the Alameda County District Attorney’s Office for 14-years. He is a graduate of the University of California Berkeley and earned a juris doctor degree from the University of California Hastings College of the Law. Mr. Wilson is a former member of the Alameda County Bar Association’s Judicial Evaluation Committee and a founding board member with Bay Area Black Prosecutor’s Association.
George Niespolo, Partner, Duane Morris, LLP
George D. Niespolo is a partner at Duane Morris' Trial Practice Group, concentrating his practice in the areas of white-collar criminal and government regulatory investigations and cases. Prior to entering private practice, Mr. Niespolo was an Assistant United States Attorney for the Northern District of California, where he served on the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force and the Organized Crime and Racketeering Strike Force. He also served as a Deputy District Attorney for the Alameda County District Attorney's Office.
